Culture is the way of life shared by many people

Culture encompasses a view of the world that is shared by a group of people and learnt through social interactions within the group. This includes a wide range of behaviors, values, beliefs, attitudes and customs, and is reflected in the language, dress, foods and social institutions of a group.

The culture so profoundly affects the thoughts, actions and feelings of people in that group than anthropologists commonly say that ‘individuals are a product of their culture’ and ‘learning a culture is an essential part of human development’ and accounts in large part for the differences between groups of people in how they act, think and feel.

Culture provides the framework for a particular society’s way of life; it members of a social group way of life; it influences the way social life is regulated and guides interactions between members of a social group. A culture provides people with ideas about the kinds of arguments concerning particular subjects that are acceptable.

Traditionally, anthropologists try to provide some measure of understanding of the particular way of life of a group, to describe them for others who might gain from that understanding.
