It envisions the destruction of capitalism by a people’s revolution which will ultimately result in the creation of a classless society free of social injustice n economy exploitation.
Marxism was based on the work of German philosopher Karl Marx. The term Marxism is used in various fields to apply any use of Marx’s ideas to a specific theoretical task at hand.
The main theoretical contribution of Karl Marx was in laying bare the exploitative and contradictory motion of capitalism.
Marx argued that the inner workings of capitalism propel a central contradiction: the dual forces of incessant accumulation of capital and socioeconomic fragmentation and instability.
In Marx’s view, it is inevitable that capitalism should give way to socialism. As capitalism develops, he believed the increasingly ‘socialized’ character of the production process will conflict more and more with the private ownership of the means of production.
He suggested, the end of capitalism would be brought about by workers; revolution against the owners of the means of production.
The workers would subsequently gain control of society’s economic resources and of the reins of government.
Marx claimed that the ‘species-being’ of Man consists in labor, and that Man is ‘alienated’ to the extent that labor is performed according to a division of labor that is dictated by market.
